Father, daughter charged for assaulting, threatening woman

A father and daughter duo appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for attacking a woman on Friday.
Seventeen-year-old Rushanna Dudson and 64-year-old William Dudson; both of Lot 310 North Ruimveldt, Housing Scheme, Georgetown denied the charges read to them by City Magistrate Judy Latchman.
The charge against the teenage girl alleged that on June 20, 2017, at Christian Street, North Ruimveldt, she unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Drecelle Cox so as to cause her actual bodily harm.
Her father’s charge alleged that he, on the same day at the same location, use threatening language against the said Virtual Complainant (VC).
According to facts of the matter, the teenager and the woman had an argument which escalated into a fight. As a result of that fight, the VC sustained injuries to her left side neck for which she had to seek medical treatment.
However, the father of the teenager intervened and also threatened to harm the VC. As such the matter was reported and both defendants were arrested and charged.
Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves had no objections to bail and this was granted in the sum of ,000 for the assault charge against the teenager. Her father was granted ,000 bail. Both are scheduled to reappear in court on October 9.
