Father of 10 fined for behaving disorderly at Police station
Quacy Sealey
A $10,000 fine was imposed on Quacy Sealey, also known as “Cayenne,” a minibus driver for Route 40 (Kitty/Campbellville), on Friday for his disruptive behaviour at the Brickdam Police Station.
At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, 38-year-old Sealey, the father of 10 children, of Lot 29 Queen Street, Kitty, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Rhondell Weever. He entered a guilty plea and explained his behaviour on June 16, 2023.
According to the Police prosecutor, Sealey started cursing loudly as soon as he walked into the station that day. The prosecutor said that Sealey persisted even after being instructed to stop. The prosecution asserted that this bus driver is known for committing traffic offences.
During his court appearance, an unrepresented Sealey claimed that someone else was driving his bus on the relevant day. He claimed that the Police had instructed the driver to take the minibus to the station. According to Sealey, they did as instructed.
Sealey told the court that the Police demanded him to sign a document after they forced the driver out of the bus. Sealey said he refused to sign the paperwork because he was not the bus driver. This, according to him, sparked a “heated argument” between him and a Police Sergeant.
Magistrate Weever, after accepting Sealey’s guilty plea, fined him $10,000. If he does not pay the amount, he will spend one month in jail. Sealey was accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl in February 2017.
He was charged with the crime in October 2017. The teen’s parents reportedly did not know about her contact with the adult man until after she got pregnant. As far as this publication is aware, the charge against him was dropped after the virtual complainant refused to testify against him.
Additionally, Sealey was previously charged with stealing a firearm and wounding.
