Home Sports Father’s day tape-ball tournament set for NCC
The National Cultural Centre (NCC) tarmac will come alive on Sunday when it hosts the Father’s Day Work Place tape ball knock out competition organized by James “Uprising” Lewis.
It’s a six-over a-side competition with the winning team set to lift the coveted Minister of State, Joseph Harmon Trophy.
There will also be medals up for grabs that are donated by Junior Minister of Finance, Jaipaul Sharma.
The teams contending in the Father’s day fiesta are staff members representing various organisations including Ministry of Education, Environment Protection Agency, Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Guyana Energy Agency, Civil Aviation Authority, Princess Hotel and Casino, Police Training College, Guyana Oil Company Limited (Guyoil), Demerara Bank Limited, Hand-in-Hand Insurance Company, IPED, Parliament Office, Demerara Harbour Bridge, Forestry Commission, Supreme Court Marshals and the Guyana School of Agriculture.
The first ball in the 16-team tournament is at 09:30 hrs.
