Female inter-county rivalry resumes Sunday

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) will bowl off its senior female Inter-County Cricket tournament on Sunday.
The tournament will be played under two formats: 50 overs and 20 overs, with the former being played first. The opening round will see Demerara tackling Essequibo at the Lusignan Community Centre (LCC) on the East Coast.

Berbice are the current champions

Essequibo then tackles Berbice on Monday at the same venue, while Berbice will tackle Demerara on April 9. The T20 format will be played on May 11, 12 and at the Everest Cricket Club Ground.
Berbice, in 2017, won the 50-Over title under the astute leadership of West Indies player and tournament MVP, Shemaine Campbelle, who was instrumental in the victory as with an even unbeaten century against Demerara.
The win means that Berbice have won the title on four successive occasions. In their first match, they dismissed Essequibo for a record low 15 runs.
