Home Sports Female Jamaica racer to contest in ENet Clash of Champions on November...
Jamaica’s first Formula Woman racer, Sara Misir, is set to mark her initial presence in the Group 4 class at ENet Caribbean Clash of Champions on November 5 at the South Dakota Circuit.
Sara raced through the ranks, making her debut in international motorsport in 2022 in the prestigious GT Cup Championship in the UK, competing as part of the Formula Woman Team for McLaren Customer Racing in the British GT Cup Championship.
Back on her home turf at the Dover Raceway, Misir has been unstoppable, securing a hat-trick of victories in three consecutive JRDC meets.
This remarkable feat crowned her Champion in the 2022 JRDC Modified Production 3 and the TS1 Classes.
Sara is no ordinary competitor. Before she transitioned to motorsports, she was a dedicated equestrian, showcasing her resilience and tenacity even after a serious accident that resulted in a broken jaw and fractured skull. After a challenging six-month recovery, Sara has proven she’s as tough as they come.
Now she’s ready to take on the Group 4 competition and show that she’s a force to be reckoned with as she gives the men a run for their money.
This is the first time that a female will compete in the “big boys” league. The Group 4 racers from Guyana include Mark Vieira, Andrew King, Kevin Jeffrey, Vishok Persaud and Denzil Hopkinson.
Group 4 drivers from Trinidad include Franklyn Boodram and Kristian Boodoosingh, while Mark Maloney will be flying the Barbados flag.
For Jamaica, Misir will join veteran racer Doug Gore. The female racer will definitely add to the excitement, especially that of female motor racing enthusiasts.
Accordingly, the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) promises, on November 5, a spectacle never before seen event at the South Dakota Circuit.
President of the GMR&SC, Mahendra ‘Raj’ Boodhoo, confirmed that among the countries that would be competing on the day are Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and the USA, along with the Guyanese contingent.
In addition, bikers from the United Kingdom, around the Caribbean, and the USA will be in action against their Guyanese counterparts such as Matthew Vieira, Kevin Persaud and others.
The action races off at 11:00h and fans can expect a thrilling and exciting day of motor racing.
