The Bounty Farm Ltd Handicap Squash Tournament began on Wednesday evening at the Georgetown Club courts with Taylor Fernandes showing great form in the handful of matches played in the in the Open Category and two in Category A.
Fernandes (-4) battled with Jonathan DeGroot (8) winning the first game in style only conceding 3 points. Jonathan fought back in the second game interrupting Fernandes by taking the game 15-13. Fernandes triumphed in the third despite a shaky moment after reaching 0 from a 4-point deficit, then showed her superior skill and held her nerve to win the third game and match 15-11, 13-15, 15-14.
In the other open games, Javid Rahaman made light work of Tian Edwards while Brian Young closed the 3 point handicap gap on Andrea King to take both games.
Category A match ups for the night saw Shiloh Asregardo dominate to win in straight games against Ashanti Persaud and Abosaide Cadagon not dropping a point as she easily took care of Kayden Pynaendy. Matches will continue nightly at the club with the finals slated for Sunday.
