FIFA’s President congratulates GFF and Slingerz FC

President of FIFA, the world governing body of Football, Gianni Infantino, has congratulated the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and the Slingerz FC for the just concluded Stag Elite League, saying it has helped “to spread the positive message of football.”
According to the letter dated June 28, Infantino said, “this title is the result of the determination of everyone involved and my congratulations go to the players, the coach, the entire technical and medical staff, and the fans.” Slingerz FC is the Champion of Champions of the Stag Elite League Finale after defeating Alpha United FC 1–0 on Sunday, June 26 at the National Track and Field Facility, Leonora, West Coast Demerara. During the two-part league, Slingerz FC won the Genesis League and Alpha United FC won the finale. Based on the rules of the tournament, a decider match was required to decide an overall winner.
