Final 20-player rosters announced

The final 20-player rosters have been submitted by the 20 participating Member Associations for the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship.

The 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship will take place between February 22 and March 8, 2020, in Santo Domingo and San Cristobal, Dominican Republic. The competition will kick off with a group stage involving 16 teams. After round-robin play, the top three finishers in each group will advance to the round of 16.
Knockout-round matches (round of 16, quarter-final, semi-final and final) will be played in a single-match elimination format, with the finalist joining FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup 2020 co-hosts Costa Rica and Panama.
In accordance with the Competition Regulations, injury-related changes will be allowed to the final 20-player rosters for the group stage until 24 hours before each team’s first match. Any injury replacements must be approved by CONCACAF.
The final 20-player rosters have been selected and submitted by each participating Member Association and are published as such. In order to be eligible to play in the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship, all players are subject to and must fully comply with the criteria stipulated in the applicable FIFA player eligibility regulations.
In the previous edition of the CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship, played in Trinidad and Tobago in 2018, Mexico won their first title at this level, with a 4-2 win in penalties over the United States in the final.
The 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship will continue with an exciting year of women’s football at CONCACAF. In total, more than 1400 girls and women from the entire region will compete in top-level football tournaments, including the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers, the Under-17 Championship and the Girls’ Under-15 Championship.
On Monday, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) released Guyana’s 20-member team comprising three local talents and 17 foreign-based players. The junior Lady Jags have been grouped with Mexico, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico in Group D. Their group matches will be played on Sunday, February 23 against Nicaragua; Tuesday, February 25 against Puerto Rico and Thursday, February 27 against Mexico at 19:00h, 16:00h and 19:00h respectively.a
