It has been intense competition from the preliminaries to quarter-finals, which were held last Sunday at MovieTowne, Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown, where 25 persons performed for a spot in the semi-finals. After their performances, the judges gave their comments, but it is now up to the public to decide who moves into the next round.
The semi-finalists would be determined by a voting system where the public can vote for their favourite contestants via a GTT app. The list of semi-finalists will be announced later today. Once selected they will move full steam ahead into the semi-finals. Again, there will be an elimination and only the contestants with the most votes will head into the finals set for July 1.
From feedback gathered, it has been stiff competition thus far with some excellent vocals worthy of Guyana’s next singing sensation.
However, in the finals, patrons will be entertained to the fullest as former International Chutney Monarch Ravi B and his band, Karma, are set to perform live. In addition, Trinidad’s Soca sensation, Shal Marshal is on the list to perform during the final.
The cast for the final will also include past winners of the GTT Jingle Competition and several local artistes. The final will also be held at MovieTowne, and it is an affair that you don’t want to miss.
