Final preliminary round bowls off today

The Guyana Cricket Board’s (GCB) Jaguars 50 Overs League is set to continue today with the final preliminary round of matches at four venues.
Current three-day champions, Essequibo who are the current points leaders are on course for the double and will take on fifth placed Upper Corentyne at the Albion Community Centre ground.
The other match in Berbice brings together defending champions, Lower Corentyne who are currently in second position and bottom of the table East Coast Demerara at the Young Warriors ground.

Keemo Paul is expected to play a major role for Essequibo

Tuschen ground on the East Bank of Essequibo is the venue for the clash between joint third placed teams, Georgetown and West Demerara. The final match of the round is between seventh placed Upper Demerara/East Bank and sixth placed West Berbice at the Everest ground in Georgetown. All matches will commence at 09:00h.
Meanwhile, after a complete wash out in round six, teams are eager for some playing time as players will be pushing for selection to the Jaguars Super50 squad for competition in January however after persistent rainfall on Thursday and Friday the chances of full matches are very slim.
At the end of the preliminary round of matches, the team with the highest amount of points will advance straight to the final which is set for Saturday December 30 at a venue to be announced while the second and third placed teams will battle each other in a play-off on Thursday December 28 for a place in the final.
