The report prepared after allegations of sexual harassment of female referees within the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) had been investigated has been submitted to the GFF by Dr Karen Pilgrim, Chairperson of the Board of Inquiry (BoI), on November 19.

The report is scheduled to be tabled for review and action by the Executive Committee at the next scheduled meeting of the GFF, on Saturday December 1, 2018.
The inquiry, which began in March 2018, was necessitated following allegations of sexual harassment made by female referees, and was conducted by a five-member panel led by Chairperson Dr Karen Pilgrim, Vice President of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA). Other members of the BoI included Dr Melissa Ifill of the University of Guyana, Human Resources Consultant Karen Joseph, and Red Thread members Karen De Souza and Joy Nichola Marcus-Reid.
The Terms of Reference of the BoI included: to develop a policy against sexual harassment for referees in Guyana; to evolve a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redress of sexual harassment cases; to ensure implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures; to create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment; and to promote a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms,” a release from the GFF stated.
