Firefighters avert disaster after blaze erupts near nursery school

What could have turned into a major disaster at Atlantic Cable TV Network Inc, Alberttown, Georgetown, was swiftly brought under control Thursday afternoon as firefighters raced to the scene and prevented the blaze from spreading.
The fire occurred in a two-storey building along Third Street, Alberttown. Reports indicate that the fire began at the back of the property on the lower level and firefighters battled the blaze from outside the building, attempting to break windows in an effort to gain access.
Located in close proximity to a nursery school, the fire fighters were able to contain the situation and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties, as the blaze was concentrated toward the rear of the building.
It was reported that during the fire, one person who was inside the house was evacuated.
