Fisherman jailed for 12 months on several charges

After admitting guilt to charges for the offences of simple larceny, damages to property, and threatening behaviour, a Lot 68 Lancaster Unity Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD) fisherman was jailed for 12 months by Magistrate Marissa Mittleholzer last Friday.

Narindra Bajnauth appeared at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court.
The simple larceny, property damage, and threatening behaviour charges were laid contrary to the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act. After he pleaded guilty to the charges, Magistrate Mittleholzer sentenced Bajnauth to a combined 12 months in prison. (G1)
