Fisherman on bail for B&E charge

A 22-year-old Walton Hall, Essequibo Coast fisherman was slapped with a break and enter and larceny charge and was granted ,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce.

Deodat Sumsundar denied the charge which stated that on December 31, 2016 at Walton Hall, he stole a quantity of GTT and Digicel phone cards valued $10,000, one Samsung cell phone valued $30,000, US$350 equivalent to $75,000 in local currency and $30,000, a total value of $145,000, property of Naina Narine.

The defendant will return to court on March 21.
