A 17-year-old boy was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on a larceny charge.
Randy Smith of Chapelle Street, Georgetown, who was apprehended last week after being on the run for a number of months, allegedly stole four shocks and four speakers from a Hummer between February and March 2018 at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Upon his initial arrest, the accused took Police to a location where the shocks valued $280,000 were found; however, the speakers with a value of $160,000 are yet to be found.
While leaving that location however, Smith escaped from the custody of the ranks and was only recaptured last week.
The court heard that on the day of the robbery, Smith entered the vehicle belonging to Anthony Singh and removed the items. He will make his next court appearance today.
