FLETCHER SLAMS 81 IN CPL GAME 3, but Patriots manage only 149-8 against Barbados Royals

Andre Fletcher was the star of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots show in match three of the Hero Caribbean Premier League, played at Warner Park St Kitts.
At press time, Patriots made 149-8 in their alloted 17 overs, with Fletcher scoring a shot-filled 81. He only received support from Joshua Da Silva who made 19, while Ramon Simmons and Jason Holder led the collective bowling effort for Barbados Royals.

Da Silva is stumped

After an hour and 30 minutes from the original start time, the match got underway with 17 overs per side and a five over powerplay. Joshua Da Silva opened the batting in the place of the absent Evin Lewis.
Da Silva(19) and Fletcher added 57 runs for the opening wicket after 6.5 overs. The Trinidadian, Da Silva ran past one and was stumped.
Fletcher continued to score with ease and grace while Darren Bravo continued his struggles. He was caught at long-off for seven from eight balls as Patriots reach 83-2 after 10.4 overs.

Corbin Bosch claimed five catches for the Royals

He eventually reached his fifty from 40 balls. Sherfane Rutherford then came, struck a six but was dismissed the next ball by Corbin Bosch for nine. Patriots were 99-3 in 12.2 overs. Fletcher then took Obed McCoy to the cleaners but he watched Dewald Brevis held out to the fielder at long-on. Patriots were 128-4 in 14.2 overs. Fletcher’s innings eventually came to an end when he was also caught by Bosch at 135-5 in 15.3 overs off Ramon Simmons. The spice man innings of 81 from 55 balls was decorated with 11 fours and one six.
Dwaine Pretorious was removed the very next ball, and Patriots continued to crumble, ending on 149-8 in 17 overs. Jason Holder had 2-27 and left-arm seamer Simmons had 2-28. It was only Fletcher and Da Silva who reached double figures. Bosch claimed five catches for Royals.
