The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) continued its weekly round of intense 20 over matches at the Demerara Cricket Club Ground (DCC) with wins for Floodlights, Regal and Sunrisers.
Floodlights defeated Fisherman Masters by 57 runs after making 160-5 in 20 overs, thanks to a fine innings of 58 from Vishwanauth Lutchman and John Sumir 35. Robert Mohan grabbed 2-25 for the Fishermen who were bowled out for 103 in 14 overs. Veteran opening batsman Yunis Yusuf; top-scored with 23 following Imitaz Mohamed’s burst of 4-29.
Regal Masters whipped Ariel Masters by 4 wickets after knocking over the latter for 106 in 18.5 overs. Mohamed Rafeek hit 40 but Parsaram Persaud pulled things back for Regal with returns of 5-8. Regal then ended on 110-6 with Mahendra Arjune smashing 36.
Parika Defenders suffered a 5 wickets defeat at the hands of Sunrisers after their 124-9 proved too small of a total Oswald Chandla defied with 31after Gopaul Deen ripped through the attack to end with 5-16. In reply, Sunrisers ended on 125-5 with Deen leading the way with 40.
Fixtures for this weekend include; Floodlights versus Regal Masters on Pitch one from 10:00hrs while Speedboat takes on Regal All Stars from 13:00hrs. Meanwhile Pitch 2 will see Wellman tackling Sunrisers from 10:00hrs and at 13:00hrs Success will lock horns win Farm XI.
