Fly Jamaica is the latest company to hop on board the GT Beer, Berbice Football Association (BFA), Candy Boss and Antics Promotions Inter Club 8 – A Side Football Tournament which is slated for year-end in the ancient county.
In a simple but significant ceremony at Fly Jamaica local office at Ogle International Airport last Thursday, the airline presented two tickets as a gate prize for the tournament.
These tickets will be won via a raffle for patrons who purchase tickets which will be drawn on the night of the finals on January 1, 2018.
Marketing Manager of Fly Jamaica, Carl Bowen highlighted that the airline is pleased to be associated with the young promotion group from New Amsterdam, Candy Boss & Antics Promotion in their football tournament.
Noting that this partnership would enhance sports and corporate relationship and assist in the positive relations with youth and communities from hence they came to participate.
Candy Boss & Antics Promotions secretary and media consultant, Mark Bradford in response thanked Fly Jamaica for partnering with the Candy Boss and Antics Promotions in their inaugural football tournament as he outlined the tournament information.
Twenty-four clubs from member associations West Demerara, East Bank, East Demerara, Georgetown and Berbice will compete in six groups before qualifying to the round of 16 where the knockout stage will commence.
This tournament will be played at the All Saint Presbyterian church ground in New Amsterdam and will see matches on Fridays and Sundays including Christmas night and January 1. Local beverage giant, Banks DIH Ltd who are the major sponsors will provide the total prize money of $1,000,000. of which $500,000 will go to the winners, $300,000 to the runners up, $100,000 to the third place finisher, $50,000 to the best goalkeeper and $50,000 to the highest goal scorer. Other sponsors are Jumbo Jet, Homeline Furnishing, H.C Alphonso and Sons, S. D& L certified Accounting and Business Advisors, Candy Shop, Step Up boutique among others.
The tournament is expected to be launched on Thursday October 18 in New Amsterdam.
