Flying Ace Cycle Club holds 21st Annual Awards Ceremony today

The Randolph Roberts-led Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC) of Berbice will today, Saturday February 1, be hosting its 21st Annual Awards Ceremony at the New Amsterdam Town Hall.

Balram Narine, who had a good cycling season in 2019, is expected to be recognized as the club’s champion cyclist. Narine began 2019 with a win, and finished the year in similar fashion.
Besides Narine, the FACC has produced such top cyclists as Jeremiah Joseph, Ralph Seenarine and Mario Washington, who was the 2019 Juvenile Champion and will be awarded in that category, while Joseph will be awarded runner-up rider in the juvenile category.
Seenarine is the top junior wheelsman of the club, while Aaron Rajnarine is the club’s outstanding 12-14 cyclist. Shazam Yacoob, Shazim Karan and Ravi Mootoo are the other riders who turned in outstanding performances in the 12-14 category in 2019.

During the past week, when Sentinel Security donated the Champion Cyclist Trophy to the club, its representative congratulated Narine on his performance and pledged the company’s support to the club in future cycling events. The club’s coach and events organizer, Randolph Roberts, has expressed gratitude to Sentinel Security for the donation received.
Besides Sentinel Security, the FACC has received assistance from Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) President Hilbert Foster, Trophy Stall, Ralph Felix, Eureka Labs, Senior Counsel Mursaline Bacchus, Pearl Arokium of the Arokium Funeral Parlour, and Romona Persaud, among others.
The FACC will host its first race of 2020 on February 16; followed by another meet on February 24.
