Food For The Poor donates beds to Hope Children’s Home

Food For The Poor (Guyana) Inc in collaboration with Food For The Poor Canada Inc donated five twin-size bunk beds and ten mattresses to Hope Children’s Home, Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
This donation was made through the Angels of Hope programme and made possible by a Canadian-based Guyanese, Naraine, who provided funding for the procurement of the items as part of his birthday celebration and his desire to give back to his homeland.
The beds and mattresses were urgently needed to upgrade the children’s dormitory so as to ensure their comfort and the home’s capacity to take in additional children.

The administrator of Hope Children’s Home, Mahadai Samichand, expressed her gratitude to Food For The Poor for their timely donation.
“I must say thank you to Food For The Poor and Mr Naraine for the beds, we currently have an intake of new children at the home, thus this donation will surely have a positive impact on the lives of the children, as they will now have comfortable beds to sleep on,” she emphasised.
Speaking at the simple handover ceremony, Coordinator of Angels of Hope, Kaleda Crandon stated that she is pleased to see the improvement that Food For The Poor and the Angels of Hope Programme is creating, and the impact on children’s living conditions.
Crandon highlighted that the beds will benefit the home in the long run, since many children will use them in the years to come.
