Footballer remanded for robbery, damage to property

A 19-year-old footballer of James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, was hauled before the court on two charges of armed robbery and unlawful damage to property.
The teenager stood before Georgetown Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied both charges.
Job Caesar, who was represented by Attorney-at-Law Paul Fung-A-Fat, faced both charges. The first charge stated that on November 25, 2018, at Lot 178 Albert and Charlotte Streets, Georgetown, while being armed with a gun, he robbed Jennifer Validin of a cellphone valued $30,000.
The other charge stated that the young footballer, on the same date and the same location, unlawfully damaged a motor car valued $3.5 million, property of the same Virtual Complainant.
The teen’s Attorney contended that the VC was being dishonest since the colour of the vehicle which she claimed Caesar damaged kept changing through posts made on social media.
Police Prosecutor Seon Blackman objected to bail on the grounds that a gun was used in the crime, while noting that Caesar has another pending matter before another court. The defendant was remanded to prison. The case will continue on January 30, 2019.
