Former Berbice Cricket Board President Anil Beharry has shown his support for the youths of Pomeroon by donating them a quantity of cricket gear.
Beharry, a former Berbice cricketer, recently handed over the donation to Pomeroon Cricket Committee representative Sherman Austin.
Former national youth player Devon Ramnauth, who is chiefly behind development of the game in Pomeroon, has expressed delight at Beharry’s contribution.
“I [am] extremely delighted and happy to see people have come on board with the donation of cricket gear,” he said. “Recently, an under-15 competition was launched, and this support by Beharry has been timely. I must say this will encourage the youths to play competitive cricket as well,” Ramnauth, founding member of the Region Two Development Cricket League, has said.
