Former school principal robbed at gunpoint during home invasion
Former school principal, Sir Arthur Chandra is now counting his losses after bandits invaded his Bel Air Park residence on Sunday and carted off with an undisclosed sum of cash and jewellery.
According to information received, the incident occurred at about 01:30h when bandits entered Chandra’s house through a window at the bottom flat of this two-storey house and pointed a gun at his head as they demanded money and gold.
One of the men watched the elderly man as the others ransacked the house for money and jewellery. However, after finding an undisclosed sum of money, and a quantity of jewellery, the men made good their escape through a back door.
When contacted, Police Commander, Senior Superintendent Phillip Azore stated that several persons are being questioned and the police are reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage collected with the hope of identifying the men.
