In times of economic uncertainty and downturns, most often, the companies who survive and thrive are the ones that have prepared by strategically building the skills of their greatest asset – their people.
FranklinCovey is known as the world leader in consulting and training, enabling individuals and organizations to achieve results that require lasting changes in
human behaviour.
Their local office, FranklinCovey Guyana, has been – company by company, person by person – sharing its tools, widely- regarded as some of the best in the business, to help organisations permanently lock in a competitive advantage.
At a recent workshop at Guyana Times, the FranklinCovey Guyana CEO, Dr Rosh Khan, shared how the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, the bedrock of his company’s programme which was named the Most Influential Business Book of
the Twentieth Century, provides character-based solutions to optimise personal and professional effectiveness.
“If you want to make minor changes in your life, work on your behaviour. But, if you want to make significant, quantum breakthroughs, work on your paradigms,” he said quoting D. Stephen Covey, the author of the bestselling book and co-founder of FranklinCovey. Getting persons to understand that each individual has the power to transform their life by choosing to change their self is a foundational aspect of the programme. “The world changes when you change,” said Dr Khan.
He noted that FranklinCovey’s mission is to enable greatness in people and organisations everywhere by focusing on the timeless, universal principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity.
The organisation, which has offices in more than 150 countries around the world, believes that each person is inherently capable with seeds of greatness with them that are waiting to bloom, given the right tools. Companies, from global leaders like Coca Cola and General Electric to small businesses, have utilised that the FranklinCovey training programmes to boost performance. They have impacted 90% of the Fortune 100’s.
Sustained superior performance, according to FranklinCovey, requires the P/PC Balance (Production/Production Capability), a focus on achieving results and on building capability. And the recently-launched FranklinCovey Guyana has been making waves across the country as more entities see the truth of that. The CEO said currently, they are conducting programmes with the Civil Society, Public Sector, and Private Sector, and the feedback has been phenomenal.
In the first quarter of 2018, the company would be rolling out programmes specifically for corporate professionals in the areas of leadership, communication, and project management. It will also be releasing the award-winning programme for Millennial Leadership.
