Fraudster jailed for 18 months

A fraudster, who admitted that he converted $1 million of his employer’s money to his own use, was on Tuesday jailed.
Alex Persaud appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where he admitted that on October 14 and 26, 2018, at Puruni Landing, Cuyuni River, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) while being a servant and solely entrusted with $1 million, property of Dave Young, he fraudulently converted money to his own personal use and benefit.
The 44-year-old man was jailed for 18 months by Magistrate McLennan.
