Fruta Conquerors, Western Tigers hunting quarter-final berths

GFF/Corona Super 16 Tournament…

Two more quarter-finalists will be confirmed when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Corona Super 16 knockout tournament continues at the GDF Ground, Camp Ayangana this evening.
The feature clash will bring together powerhouse, Fruta Conquerors and Ann’s Grove in a tantalizing affair under lights. The Tucville based side, Conquerors will seek to extend their good run this year by knocking out the East Coast Demerara side in their quest for a spot in the final eight. However, it will be no easy task for the men in orange as Ann’s Grove have proven recently that they can be formidable opponents on any given day.
Fruta’s front line will be led by the tenacious Jermain Junior while their defense will be buoyed by Jeremy Garrett, all in all the matchup should make for a thrilling 90 minutes of football as the underdogs clash with the big boys.
The first match of this evening will pit Western Tigers FC against East Bank Demerara based Grove Hi-Tec; this matchup will be an intriguing contest as Western Tigers will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing run of form while Grove Hi-Tec are on song having made it recently to the semi-final stage of the Turbo Knock-out cup.
