FumaCon 2023 to transform Marriott Hotel on Saturday

Seishonen Guyana is an arts and entertainment business known for planning FumaCon – Guyana’s leading Anime and Comic convention.
FumaCon was held for the first time on November 27, 2022 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, and it saw close to 2000 patrons in attendance to support over 50 youth-led businesses. The event included scavenger hunts, cosplay competitions and lots more, to the excitement of the patrons. FumaCon continues to encourage youths to pursue their passions and profit from it by creating safe spaces for commerce and entertainment. The team fully supports the local creative arts industry by working directly with artists to develop a unique visual aesthetic.
The second edition of this much-anticipated event will be held this Saturday at the Guyana Marriott Hotel. The second floor of the facility will be transformed into a commercial and entertainment hub. The event gets underway at 13:00h and ends at 22:00h.

As obtained last year, the event will feature a variety of young exhibitors showing and selling products and services, such as art, books, clothing, food, jewelry, merchandise, and many other novelty items. Its cosplay competition is also regionally recognized for its approach in promoting local cosplayers and costume designers. The best individual cosplayer will represent Guyana at next year’s Caribbean cosplay championship in Trinidad and Tobago.

Like many other comic cons around the world, FumaCon 2023 has added new elements in the form of introducing workshops, panels, gaming booths, and a debate room.

Also, for the first time, the organisers have planned workshops based on sword prop craftmanship, special effects (SFX), and calligraphy.
In fact, the Consulate General of Japan in Guyana will be facilitating a calligraphy workshop for children under the age of 12 years.
Seishonen Guyana is deeply appreciative of the support of its sponsors towards making this event a truly memorable experience for Guyanese of all ages.
