Futsal team didn’t play poorly

Coach of the Guyana Futsal team in the Inter Guiana Games (IGG), Challus McKinnon believes that the team did not play badly despite going down to Suriname 11-1 in the first game then 12-2 the following day.
Actually our team has not played poorly, the guys showed heart  despite the fact that we don’t play Futsal in Guyana, as I said before Futsal is a different game from the field football, the technique is different” the coach stated.

He added, “We have Futsal Association here in Guyana but we have not started doing anything as it pertains to Futsal.
The Futsal team comprised of the several youth footballers in Guyana but even before the tournament started, there were concerns over the time given to prepare the players.
The unit which comprised players below the age of 19 was outplayed by a team that clearly looked more organized and prepared than they were but showed promised on different occasions.
The coach immediate plan is to begin the development process for players immediately with next year’s IGG in mind.
