Future Stars looking to rebound as Round of 16 gets underway tonight

After suffering a shock defeat at the hands of Upsetters in the final round of group stage matches on Saturday, the Future Stars will be looking to bounce back in full force when the round of 16 gets underway tonight at the National Culture Center tarmac.
The Future Stars who have been tipped to win the Georgetown Zone will face Kingston who have managed to keep alive in the tournament thus far. The likes of Keron Solomon, Akeemo Anthony and Jamal Cozier will all be rearing to go after they endured a disappointing scoreless game on Saturday before losing on penalties to the Upsetters.

The round of 16 begins tonight and promises fireworks!

Also in action tonight will be the defending champions Sparta Boss who take on Norton Street in what looks like a “David versus Goliath” fixture. However, Norton Street will take heart in the fact that Sparta Boss is no longer the powerhouse that they once were; but on any given night they can blow away any team.
Another clash that promises high octane and end to end action is Leopold Street versus Ol Skool Ballers. The evergreen Roy Cassou is the front runner for Ol Skool and is still an enduring threat to any opposition’s goal.
The Andrew Murray Jr led outfit of Bent Street will be looking to cement their status as a genuine title contender when they face North East La Penitence. Any team that has gotten past the group stage is now a potential title winner and teams will do well not to take each other for granted.
The action will begin at 19:00h at the Culture Center tarmac and will see eight games being played with each team decked out in their respective uniforms. (Michelangelo Jacobus)
