Future Stars walk the plank, Sparta march to semis

The Future Stars and their supporters were left heartbroken following their late quarter-final loss to Bent Street. In a game that seemed destined for extra time, Bent Street repelled the Stars countless attacks and John Waldron stuck home a dagger two minutes from full time to give his side a win with a Guinness goal which meant the game ended at 2-0.

Future Stars were dumped out of the quarter-finals while Sparta Boss made it through to the semi-finals

In the other three quarter-finals it was all needles as Sparta Boss were fortunate to have an own goal awarded to them in their match against Queen Street Tiger Bay.
Earlier, Randolph Wagner’s strike in the 17th minute was enough to propel Gold is Money to the semi-finals as their clash against Rising Stars ended 1-0.
Leopold Street also won via the same scoreline with Omallo Williams’ 12th minute goal was enough for his side to triumph over California Square.
In the “Plate Section”, GTI Ballers, North East La Penitence, Kingston and Upsetters all claimed walkover victories as their respective opponents failed to show up.
The tournament continues tonight with the semi-final matches slated for the Albouystown Tarmac which should see lots of fireworks. Gold is Money will take on Bent Street at 22:00h while Sparta Boss faces off with Leopold Street at 22:45h.
Those games will be preceded by the “Plate” semi-finals the first of which kicks off at 21:00h with GTI Ballers set to play North East La Penitence while Kingston will clash with Upsetters at 21:30h.
