…after Police unearth 56kg weed
Tishawn Haywood of 3rd Street, Alberttown, Georgetown appeared on Friday before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly charged for being in possession of more than 56 kilograms of cannabis.
Particulars of the charge are that on December 6, at Alberttown, the 27-year-old had in his possession 56.7 kilograms of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
He denied the charge, and his defence attorney told the court that the narcotics were found in an open yard where seven other persons were dwelling at the time.
Police Prosecutor Richard Harris, however, revealed that Haywood had been under Police surveillance for some time, and on the day in question, he was seen by ranks unloading the said drugs with the help of another, storing same in a pen in the yard where he was apprehended, the court was told.
Haywood was remanded, and the case will be called again on December 22.
