At least 10 cannabis plants were reportedly found in a bag at Amakuru, North West District (NWD), which were subsequently handed over to the Police. Based on reports received, on Wednesday at about 19:00h, the village captain went to the Joint Services Base at White Water and handed over the bag containing 10 ganja plants.
He reportedly told the ranks that the illegal plants were found whilst he and members of the Community Policing Group (CPG) were patrolling the Amakuru area.
However, it was further stated that on the day in question at about 17:40h, the Captain and the CPG members received a tip-off about the ganja and went to the area where they found the cannabis plants on a farm.
The plants were uprooted, placed in a bag and taken to the White Water Joint Services Base. An investigation has been launched.
