A 12-hour-long operation along the Ebini River in Berbice has led to six fields with an estimated 600,000 cannabis plants measuring four inches to five feet in height being unearthed and destroyed by members of the Police Narcotics Branch.
In addition, a total of 200kgs of dried cannabis was also discovered. During the eradication exercise on Wednesday, two unlicensed shotguns and 55 live cartridges were also found. The police also destroyed four camps that were at the location.
No arrests were made but the Police are attempting to locate the owner of the marijuana farm.
