Home News Ganja smuggling lands man on remand
A man who attempted to sneak ganja into the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts lockup for his friend will now join him in jail as he was remanded to prison for the offence.
Earl Morrian appeared in court on Friday, denying the allegations made against him as he stood before Magistrate Leron Daly.
The prosecution is contending that on October 25, 2018, the defendant went to visit a prisoner, who was charged with murder and during a routine check of the meal he had taken for his friend, the narcotic was found.
Morrian was subsequently arrested and charged for the offence. Unrepresented by legal counsel, the man told the court that he had no knowledge about the cannabis and how it was placed in the food. He was nonetheless remanded to prison and the case will continue on November 23.
