GAPLF Senior National Championships for December 2

The clock is winding down for the 2018 powerlifting season, and one week remains before powerlifting enthusiasts converge at the St Stanislaus College for the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation’s (GAPLF’s) Senior National Championships, scheduled for Sunday, December 2.
Being one of the most-talked-about events, powerlifting fans are anticipating awesome displays of strength as the competitors vie for the top spot and selection to the 2019 National Team. The event will see the inaugural battle in the Women’s 84+kg category as those ladies vie for the title of Best Female Lifter.
Best female lifters in the 2018 Intermediates and 2018 Raw Nationals, Runita White and Natoya Robinson respectively, are likely to headline the division.
The competition is expected to commence at 10 am, the athletes participating in ‘Flight A’ are expected to be at the venue for 8:00 am for the weigh in, as that would last no longer that 9:30 am, while the athletes from ‘Flight B’ are expected at the weigh-in at 11:30 am sharp.
Athletes interested in competing are required to download their application forms from the GAPLF’s official Facebook page, for submission along with the required competition fees.
Other athletes set to compete are 2018 NAPF Overall Champion Carlos Peterson; Vijai Rahim; 2018 Novices Overall champ Timothy Bagla; and Noel Cummings, the nation’s oldest competing athlete.
All registration forms and monies should be submitted to GAPLF Committee Member Martin Webster. Alternatively, payment for this competition can be made directly to the GAPLF’s Republic Bank Account, #6552194, with a confirming screenshot of the completed registration form along with the confirming banking deposit slip being electronically submitted to Webster.
Tickets cost $1,000, and can be purchased directly from GAPLF executive members, or from Buddy’s Gym. The entrance fee at the gate will be $1,500.
Entities on board thus far are Buddy’s Gym, Fitness Express, Trophy Stall and Dyna’s Embroidery.
