The Guyana Boxing Association has added eight Under-16 fights to its Fund Raising activity scheduled for Sunday at the Burnham Court at Middle and Carmichael Streets.
The Take-Away lunch is being held to assist in acquiring enough funds to send a team of boxers to Jamaica in October. GBA president Steve Ninvalle disclosed that his association has added Under-16 boxing to the fund raising activity. .
“From six in the evening we will have our Under-16 boxers showcasing their skill. This is much needed competition and allows the public to get a peep at future Olympians,” the Ninvalle said.
Guyana has been invited to send a team to Jamaica for a tournament being held from October 6 to 8. The GBA is planning to send a team of five boxers and one coach.
The Take Away lunch begins at 1 pm.
