With less than a month before the engine is turned on, the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) has announced its partnership with the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) for the upcoming Ignite race meet.
The newfound partnership between the two was officially confirmed by GBTI Public Relations Officer Pamela Binda, as she handed over the sponsorship cheque on Tuesday.
Citing GBTI’s integrity, the Sports Club explained that its partnership with the Bank is a symbol of the company’s faith in the organisation and by extension, the upcoming event.
The event, which is quickly growing in popularity, will mark the culmination of the 2018 season of the CMRC championship for Groups 1-5 as well as the Superstocks and SR3 radicals along with the local classes.
Aside from the Guyanese drivers in contention, the races will feature drivers from foreign shores such as Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago , Jamaica and Canada.
Tickets are currently on sale at the GMR&SC office on Thomas Lands at a cost of $2500 for adults while children’s tickets will cost $1000.
