A 3-day bowling camp for Under-19 fast bowlers will be held at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue, and will commence this Friday, December 27, and conclude on Sunday, December 29.
The camp’s participants will be advised on important technical features of fast bowling, in order to help promote faster bowling speeds and sustain pace, to keep up with the increasing demands of the game.
They will also be able to engage in cricket-specific power training, and have their bowling speeds accurately measured each day with the support of a technical team from the University of the West Indies (UWI).
Besides persons who participated in the programme at its inception in October last, new fast bowlers between 14 and 19 years old are invited to join, and they are advised to come in training kits, with indoor sneakers.
Refreshments will be provided daily, and on the last day, moderate prizes will be given to participants who had displayed commendable effort.
