Matches organised by the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) will continue this weekend with some crucial fixtures.
The GCA/FRIENDS OF CRICKET Under-17 (100-Over) Cricket Competition continues on Saturday with a double header, as the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) will face off in an intense battle as they take on Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) at the MYO, while Transport Sports Club will duke it out with Bel Air Rubis CC at the Malteenoes Sports Club. Both matches will commence at 09:30h sharp.
The New Building Society (NBS) Second Division 40-Over 2018/2019 season will continue on Saturday and Sunday, with several matches across Georgetown. On
Saturday Gandhi Youth Organisation will face off against Diplomats SC in a must-win encounter at GYO while Sophia SC will be looking for a win as they face the in-form ACE Warriors at Camp Road.
On Sunday, the MYO will clash against GNIC at the MYO Ground, while DCC will face off against the in-form UG Trojans. The last time the Trojans faced DCC, they lost to them in the semi-final of both the First and Second Division. Therefore, with the commanding win the Trojans had over GNIC, they will be looking to take that form into the match against DCC as they are scheduled to play on home turf in Queenstown. Transport SC will also be vying for a win as they take on Third Class CC at Camp Road, Transport will be looking for a win following their tragic loss to the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) last weekend as they were bowled out for 56, and GDF will see off Sophia CC at Camp Ayanganna. Matches are scheduled to start at 10:30h on both days.
The Noble House Seafoods two-day Second-Division tournament will resume on Saturday and Sunday as well, as it has now progressed to its semi-final stage and will see Police SC clashing with Everest CC at Eve Leary and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) facing Malteenoes SC at Bourda. Play is scheduled to start at 10:30h.
The V-NET/GCA LITTLE CHAMPS Under-13 (25-Over) Cricket Competition will see DCC battle Transport SC at Queenstown in the final today in a night match under lights. The presentation ceremony will follow the conclusion of the match. The match is scheduled to commence at 17:30h.
