Matches organised by the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) will continue this weekend with some interesting fixtures, weather permitting.
Over the weekend, the highly anticipated two-day finals of the Noble House Seafoods 2nd division tournament will be concluded with Police taking on Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) at Bourda. This match is scheduled to bowl off at 10:15 hrs on both days.
Today will see a double-header being played in the Under-17 Friends of Cricket Tournament, as Transport Sports Club (TSC) play Demerara Cricket Club (DCC), and Everest do battle with Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC).
TSC may be in good form, so they are expected to put up a fight. Their batting has definitely flourished throughout the tournament, so they cannot be taken for granted, even though the opposition may be a tournament favourite. That match is scheduled for the Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) Ground on Woolford Avenue.
In the other fixture for Saturday, Everest will do battle with Malteenoes; while on Sunday, DCC will see off Georgetown ECO on home turf. Both matches are expected to start at 9:30hrs. The New Building Society (NBS) second division 40-Over 2018/2019 season will continue today with Sophia taking on the in-form Guyana Defence Force (GDF) at the GNIC ground on Woolford Avenue, while MSC attempt to overthrow 2017/2018 winners, DCC, at the DCC Ground. On Sunday, the action will continue with the GDF duking it out with Everest, while the UG Trojans will seek to add more points to their tally as they take on MYO at home. GNIC will attempt to find some form as they battle MSC at GNIC. Matches are scheduled to commence at 10:30 hrs on both days.
