…urges all players to continue observing COVID-19 protocols
After a lengthy hiatus because of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) has announced its intention to resume cricketing activities from 16th August, 2021.
The action would commence with an under-17 competition, followed by an under-19 competition besides the continuation of all the other unfinished competitions. A grand launching would be held on a date following the conclusion of the Pakistan matches in Guyana.
The following competitions are to be launched: Under-15, -17, -19, -23; Second Division T/20; 1st Division 50 Overs; 1st Division 2 Days. The GCA is kindly asking all clubs to take note of the foregoing and see how quickly they could get their venues ready once the consistent rain is over. These clubs are also being asked to kindly inform all their players.
Everyone is reminded to get vaccinated, even though the final choice is theirs. The GCA is also urging everyone to please continue observing all COVID-19 protocols in order to be safe.
