The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/V-Net Little Champs Under-13 pairs tourney will bowl off this Saturday, April 7 with three exciting matches billed for the opening round.
The 25 overs-per-side pair’s competition which was launched a few weeks back, will finally bowl off on Saturday with Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) and long-time rivals Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) throwing down at the YMCA Ground, Thomas Lands from 9:30h.
Match number two which takes place at the aforementioned venue; features an encounter between the boys from Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) and the Transport Sports Club (TSC), from 14:00h.
The final match of round one bowls off at the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Ground in Woolford Avenue will see Queen’s College (QC) and Diplomats squaring off from 14:00h.
Teams are scheduled to play some 7 rounds of cricket, one each weekend until Saturday May 19 when the preliminary ends. The four top teams will then advance to the semis set for May 26 with the respective winners colliding in the finals which will be held at the YMCA Ground on June 2nd, weather permitting.
In the past, the tournament featured the likes of West Indies U19 players Ashmead Nedd, Ronaldo Ali-Mohamed, Joshua Persaud, Bhaskar Yadram and Raymond Perez; who were all a part of it.
