GCB/Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket slated to host string of summer camps

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) and Scotiabank under their Kiddy Cricket brand will tomorrow close one of their many cricket summer camps where they have sought to teach the game of cricket to the younger generation. At the same time, the two entities are gearing up to host several other cricket camps throughout the coast of Guyana.
The first camp for the 2018 season began earlier this week at the Fort Wellington Secondary School Ground, where children of West Berbice were encouraged to be part of the interactive learning experience. On the East Coast of Demerara, another camp will conclude today at the Ogle Community Centre Ground.
Further along the coast, three other camps will bowl off at the beginning of the new week. In West Demerara, the students will be taught at the Zeeburg Ground on West Coast, while the participants in Essequibo will have their chance to learn something new at the Imam Bacchus Ground on the Essequibo Coast. Both camps will run from August 13 to August 17.
Each of the camps will run for a four-day period and will take on a school-like approach, being held between 09:00h and 15:00h.
The GCB/Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket Summer Camps are expected to target students between the ages of eight and fourteen, and will be primarily used to impart cricket knowledge, and its requisite discipline and commitment attributes to the said participants. The objective of the camp activity is to identify, encourage and begin to develop 40 talented players from each of the targeted district locations.
