GCB Women’s Inter-County T20: Berbice destroy Demerara to claim title
Showing neither fight nor ambition, Demerara women suffered another loss – this time at the hands of eventual champions Berbice – in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Women’s Inter-County T20 Tournament 2025, played on April 8th at the LBI Community Ground, East Coast Demerara.

Demerara won the toss and chose to bat first. They were aiming to produce a better batting performance than the one they had last produced; but after losing their first wicket in the second over with only 14 runs on the board, they folded under pressure and capitulated to an embarrassing 48 all out, with no batswoman got into double figures.
Plaffianna Millington and Tiea Isaacs led the Berbice bowling attack, and each harvested 3 wickets. Sherika Campbelle also contributed 2 for 8.
It took the Berbice team only 7.2 overs to chase down the score and win back-to-back games. Their closing score was 52 for 2. Katana Mentore, with 21 off 17, top scored for the Berbicians as they cruised to victory.
