GCB/Scotiabank Kiddy’s cricket opens at Bay- Roc

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), in collaboration with the Cricket West Indies (CWI) and Scotiabank, commences its Summer Camp activities today in Upper Demerara from 09 00 hours to 15 00 hours at the Bay-Roc ground.

The focus is on developing the next generation of cricketers

The camp targets students from grades three to six and is being used primarily to impart cricket knowledge and its requisite discipline and commitment attributes to said participants. The goal of the camp is to identify 30 talented male players and 20 talented female players from the targeted district locations earmarked for the summer camp.
It seeks to attain their objectives of helping the targeted pupils to develop a greater interest and passion for game, helping students to acquire the skills of batting, bowling, fielding, as well as conceptual skills just to name a few. The program also aims at helping pupils to identify the need for a holistic development.
The Camp will also be conducted at the Albion Community Centre in Berbice, and West Demerara at the Zeeburg ground with both of these activities commencing from the July 25 and at Imam Bacchus ground in Essequibo on July 27.
