The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Friday presented a cheque to the tune of $1 million to aid the national flood relief efforts undertaken by the Civil Defence Commission (CDC).
GCCI President, Timothy Tucker presented the cheque to the Civil Defence Commission’s Director General, Lt Col Kester Craig, during a simple handover ceremony held at the CDC Headquarters.
The donation represents a continuation of a series of engagements that the GCCI has been having with the CDC. The GCCI, through its membership, continues to facilitate donations that will aid the CDC’s efforts in communities affected by flooding across the country.
The GCCI in a release stated that it is pleased to be able to contribute further to the laudable efforts of the CDC and strongly encourages the business community to continue supporting ongoing flood relief exercises.
