The Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (GCUSA) is set to commence training sessions from Thursday at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) from 17:00 Hrs.
The classes which are designed to prepare students for preliminary examination is open to the public especially to new and aspiring
umpires, current and inactive umpires, players, coaches, cricket administrators and journalists who wish to ascertain themselves with the laws of the sport.
A special appeal is being made for females since there is a great demand for the gender of umpires.
Among the lecturers are former international umpire, Eddie Nicholls, current West Indies International umpire Nigel Duguid, Regional umpires Colin Alfred, Shannon Crawford and Nandkumar Shivsankar.
Sessions will be conducted every Tuesday and Thursday at 17:00 Hrs at DCC on Lance Gibbs street, Queenstown.
