GDF, Panthers latest to record resounding victories

The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) Bounty Farms 15s tournament continued over the weekend in full flight with Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and Panthers dishing out some hammering victories in the National Park, Georgetown.
On Sunday, the army made light work of Pepsi Hornets by inflicting a humbling 41-10 victory. GDF blazed to a 15 – 3 half-time score via tries from Cloyd Prowell, Dwayne Schroeder and winger Patrick King. For Hornets, Ryan Gonsalves managed to make good of a penalty.

Rondell ‘Bull’ McArthur continues to tough wall in the Panthers’ unit

In the second half Rodwell Hudson joined King and Prowell on the ‘try line’. Schroeder then scored two conversions, while Prowell had one. Rickford Cummings scored the lone try of the game for the Hornets, while Gonsalves scored the conversion.
Likewise, Panthers stormed to their second win when they trounced Yamaha Caribs 39 – 0.
The rout was led with tries from Rondell ‘Bull’ McArthur, Godfrey Broomes, Malcolm Rhodia and Lancelot Adonis which saw the team 20 – 0 at the end of the first half.
In the second stanza it was all Lloyd Anderson who scored 17 points in the second half – three tries and a conversion – while Broomes made good of one conversion.
Action resumes Saturday when Hornets clash Guyana Police Force (GPF) Falcons, and the GDF facing off with Panthers. Match time 16:00h.
