GDF protecting territory against pumped up Conquerors

Action in the Guyana Football Federation Women’s Development League will be continuing today at three grounds.

In District one, the games will be played at the Guyana Defence Ground (GDF), Camp Ayanganna with GDF taking on Fruta Conquerors at 16:00h and the second match will be played between Bartica and Foxy Ladies from 17:00h.

Previously, Fruta Conquerors FC beat Bartica FC by a 6 – 1 margin.

In District two, the action will unfold at the Kwakwani Community Centre Ground. At 15:00h, fierce competition is expected when Demerara Queens battle West Side Conquerors while KwaKwani Strikers go up against Kuru Kuru Warriors at 16:00h.

At the Shulinab Community Centre Ground, where District three matches will be played, the first match kicks off at 15:30H with Paiwomak Warriors FC taking on Saints FC and Shulinab clash with Snatchers FC from 16:30hrs.

The two-month league will realize the participation of thirteen (13) clubs drawn from three-geographically designated districts:

1. District One – North East District comprising Georgetown, West Demerara, Essequibo and Bartica Regional Football Associations.

2. District Two – North West District comprising Berbice, East Demerara, East Bank and the Upper Demerara Football Associations and

3. District Three – Rupununi Regional Football Association

The Women’s Development League is designed to facilitate competitive women’s football participation, create public awareness of the sport and to expand the players’ pool.
