The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) held its Elite Referee Pre-Season Programme over the weekend as preparations continued for the upcoming elite football season.
Led by GFF Head of Referees Lenval Peart, the programme focused on preparing match officials for the demands of top-level competition.

Referees were updated on the consistent application of the International Football Association Board’s Laws of the Game, including the amendments and interpretations introduced for the 2026-27 season.
The sessions also sought to strengthen the technical knowledge, physical readiness and decision-making skills of the officials ahead of the new season.
The programme included classroom instruction, video analysis, interactive discussions, fitness activities and practical on-field exercises.
Through the sessions, the referees refreshed their knowledge of key laws, reviewed officiating practices and received practical preparation for the challenges they are expected to encounter during elite matches.
